Living with a chronic condition can be challenging and unpredictable.

 

You are never sure if you are going to have enough energy to get through the day. You might be constantly anxious that something will cause your illness or pain to flare up, or you might be struggling through a current flare-up. You might feel isolated and alone.

 

Pain, fatigue and stress are normal parts of being human, but when you live with a chronic illness, it can feel like that is all there is to life. 

 

I know because I’ve been there. 

 

I live with multiple chronic conditions. But through a regular routine of movement, self-massage, and meditation, I manage to keep most of my symptoms at bay so I have more good days than bad. 

 

I created this program of self-care for you because it is the helping hand I wish I had years ago, and because:

What You Get

Yoga Classes

2 on-demand yoga classes each week: 1 gentle floor-based practice & 1 gentle movement practice.

Self-Massage Tutorials

1 on-demand self-massage tutorial each week. These classes utilize soft massage therapy balls to help release tension and pain.

Guided Meditations

1 on-demand meditation each week. These can be done lying down or seated in a chair. 

Live Coaching Calls

4 live virtual coaching calls during the program. A time for you to ask questions and connect. 

Flexible Schedule

You will receive a program calendar with suggested classes to do each week, but you are encouraged to adapt to your body's unique needs. 

Supportive Community

Access to a private online community group where you can give and receive support and share your experience with others in the program

Is This Program Right for You?

This program is specifically designed to help people with chronic conditions develop and maintain a regular movement and self-care routine.

 

You don’t need a formal diagnosis of a chronic illness or condition to participate in this program. However, you must:

 

  • Be cleared for moderate exercise by your doctor
  • Be able to get up and down from the floor without assistance
  • Have your chronic illness/condition stable or under control
  • Have Internet access and space to practice in your home
  • Have a few yoga/self-massage props (see this video for a list of the supplies you will need)

 

I have carefully selected the techniques taught in this program and adapted them to be accessible to the fluctuating levels of energy and pain many people with chronic conditions live with.

 

This program is appropriate for beginners, as well as students with more experience.

Meet your Instructor

Hi, I'm Mary! I am a registered yoga teacher and licensed massage therapist with over a decade of experience.

 

I run an online wellness studio called Mindful Movement with Mary. My classes are a unique blend of yoga, self-massage, and guided meditation.

 

My work is deeply rooted in anatomy, functional movement, and contemporary research, and is inspired by ancient healing traditions from around the globe. 

Frequently Asked Questions

I have done yoga before and it made me feel worse. Why should I try it again?There are many styles of yoga, not all of them are appropriate for all bodies. For this program I have carefully selected types of yoga and specific poses that are gentle and have therapeutic benefits for most people. The ancient tradition of yoga offers us many ways to heal; movement is just one of them. This is why I give you different types of self-care each week so that you can discover which techniques work best for you.

What if I don't feel well enough to do the classes?I have designed this program to be adaptable to the ups and downs of living with a chronic condition. Every week you will have 4 options for your self-care. You can do these classes at your own time and pace. If you are having a good week, you can do them all and repeat the ones you like. If you are having a challenging week, you could try just doing the meditation or the restorative yoga practice. You also have access to the whole program for four months, so if you are having a flare-up for a while, you can wait until you feel better and return to the classes as you feel able.

What day/time are the live coaching calls?There will be four live group coaching calls during the program. They will be held on Zoom on Thursday evenings at 7pm ET in weeks 1, 3, 6, and 8. We will do a brief meditation and/or yoga practice and then have time for Q&A and connection. All the calls will be recorded, so you can watch them later if you can't attend live. I am also available via email for any questions that arise during this program.

How do I access all the classes and materials?The More Good Days program is being held in my online wellness studio. If you click on any of the "Register Now" buttons on this page, you will be taken into the online studio where you can purchase the program. All the classes, live sessions, and other materials will be in one place for you to find easily once you log in. Each week a new set of classes and lessons will be released into the studio. You can see the topics we will cover each week here.

What props/tools do I need to have?You will need the following items at home to get the most out of this program:

2 Massage Balls
2 Yoga blocks (you can substitute stacks of books, if needed)
1 Yoga Strap (you can use a scarf, belt, or tie instead)
2-3 Blankets
2-4 Bed pillows
1 Chair (without wheels)
1 Yoga Mat

What is the time commitment?You will be given 4 classes to do on your own time each week (1 restorative yoga, 1 Hatha yoga, 1 self-massage, and 1 guided meditation). Classes range from 15-45 minutes. There will also be four 1-hour live classes over the course of the 8-week program. You should expect to spend 2-3 hours per week on classes.
